Barbara Sassy has been wowing! audiences everywhere forever. From her early years singing in gentlemen's clubs, to the spontaneous playgirl in her "underground" years, to the exciting International Showbiz Star she has become - Barbara Sassy is a magnum opus. Barbara has been blessed with the composure of Streisand, the commanding vocals of Bassey, and the pathos of Everage

Barbara's petite frame carries a huge voice and a mammoth presence whether be it on stage or in life. Barbara is an entertainer who brings inner conflicts and touching emotions to every tune she sings. You can hear her in every phrase, in every refrain - as you listen to Barbara perform the true meanings of the songs that echo her life. Barbara always connects with her audience and leaves them tangled around her little finger.

Barbara Sassy performs her own original music, showbiz standards and re-arrangements of local contemporary tunes that depict Barbara's character and explains the up and down career and life of this International Showbiz Star. Barbara, in her sensational sassy style, sings her all-time classics, including her showstopper "City of Sales" to the haunting ballad "Success" and to the smooth grooves of her signature tune "I Am Sassy". Barbara is a huge fan of New Zealand music, so no show is complete without her unique interpretations of "Jesus I Was Evil", "Sway" (to name just a few) and what has now become her show closer (when in New Zealand), Shihads "Home Again".

Barbara's explosive and dramatic voice is at times backed by The Riot Squad, her six piece big sound showband led by Mr Mark Dennison, and makes for an experience one never forgets. The Riot Squad is a menagerie of some of NZs most highly accomplished musicians. "These fellas are the best in the world" rejoices Ms Sassy. " I chose them carefully because of their individual backgrounds from rock to jazz, from country to cocktail and of course the passion of musical theatre. There is nothing these boys can't play - from Sondheim to Shihad...excuse me, Pacifier. Lovable rogues all of them!"

As a complete entertainer, Ms Sassy combines elements of musical theatre with stunning live dynamics, comedy and satire.

Ms Sassy and The Riot Squad first performed her full show "Live at the Classic" in 2002. Ms Sassy returned to NZ for the 2003 NZ International Festival and appeared in the Gala, Divas and her in dependant shows "Plugged in New Zealand". In 2004 she graciously found some time to appear at the NZ International Comedy Festival's "Divas". Ms Sassy has also featured on New Zealand television and radio with appearances on SPACE, Good Morning Show, The Edge Fm and George FM.

Ms Sassy has also performed privately for Corporate friends when available.
