The New Zealand Comedy Guild Incorporated was established in March 1999 to promote and protect the interests of the professional stand-up comedians and live comedy performers in New Zealand’s entertainment industry.

GRAVITY GEORGE

Ukulele Comedy is what I have been doing lately. The Gravity George phenomenon has joined the 4-string movement. Cutting edge, smart and original humour with a feel-good musical flavour.
Was a smash hit at Cock and Bull Newmarket's "Sing for Your Supper" evenings in 2008. Performed at the NZ Ukulele Festival, Mt Smart Stadium, 2008. Did solo one-hour shows at The Auckland Comedy Festival 2002 & 2003, as well as Hamilton Fringe Festival 2002. Occasional Big Wednesday performer at the Classic.
Gigs in Whangarei and Kaikohe 1986, Comedy Cafe London 1991, Spud Murphy's Los Cristianos Tenerife 1992, Kitty O'Briens Auckland 1993-1995, The Classic 1997 - 2008 (on and off as it were). Was Tea-Chest bass player in the band JAW 1994 - 2007 - performed with Jaw at the Java Jive Ponsonby, and the PowerStation Mt Eden. Jaw also did a live gig on Max TV, Auckland, in 1997.
