The New Zealand Comedy Guild Incorporated was established in March 1999 to promote and protect the interests of the professional stand-up comedians and live comedy performers in New Zealand’s entertainment industry.

Rhys Matthewson is the 2010 Billy T Award winner.

Wilson Dixon is the 2010 winner of 'The Fred'

The Guild offers a unified voice for comedians in their communications with other branches of the industry. The Guild also offers its support to private applications to other funding bodies such as Creative New Zealand and various local body organisations.

The Guild offers a system for comedians to communicate with each other by regularly updating and publishing a database of comedians throughout the country, emailing regular newsletters to members, holding Guild meetings to allow for an open forum for discussion on any issues that members wish to raise, providing this website for comedians and punters to keep in touch with industry news.
