JAMES RAFFAN

James says that his success as a comic comes from his versatility. At only 21 he seems at home on stage in any environment. A Hamilton Resident, James grew up in a suburb called Nawton and began to develop his comedy at Fraser High School. “When I was there we had drug dealers, bullies, and idiots; and their were some pretty demented people who weren't on staff too” At 21 James is the youngest of the Comedy Tours family. As a full time student James has been introduced to all types of people and the observationalist nature of his material is a reflection of that. His material ranges from having a drug dealer for a flat mate to Hamilton Vs Auckland. An avid follower of politics and current events a lot of James material also serves as social commentary giving the audience insight into how his mind actually works. James was born with cerebral palsey, another aspect of his life constantly highlighted in his comedy. “So God gave me the option of being stillborn or disabled, constantly wondering why me and on the other hand cleaner public toilets and better parking” Whether you agree with his unique and sometimes demented take on life or not is up to you but he’ll make you think and probably laugh even after the show stops. That’s what makes James Raffan the “Thinking Kid” of Comedy Tours.
